Katie Moorhouse, ASID

Senior Designer

Katie Moorhouse graduated from The University of Georgia in 2011 with a degree in Furnishings and Interiors. She then moved to Atlanta to begin her career in the city’s distinguished design community. She has completed the rigorous National Council for Interior Design Qualification Exam and is now a professional member of ASID and is LEED certified. She joined The Design Atelier in 2017 and serves as Senior Designer, overseeing the design process from inception to completion.

Katie has worked up and down the East Coast on a vast array of residential projects that have won several ASID Design Excellence awards. Katie has contributed to several projects featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, one of which received the Kitchen of the Year award. Over the years, Katie has expanded her geographic scope to include the north Georgia mountains, where she has worked on numerous largescale projects on Lake Burton and Lake Blue Ridge.

Growing up with a passion for home design shows, she realized at an early age what she wanted to do. She thrives on the close relationships built with clients, architects, and the whole building team. She believes that a project is successful if, after many years, the clients still love their home and the way it has improved their lives.

Katie enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and scoping out the latest food scene in Atlanta.

Virginia Nocharli

Junior Designer

Virginia Nocharli graduated in 2020 from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a minor in International Studies. She received many awards and was recognized as a semi-finalist in the 2020 ASID Student Portfolio Competition and was also selected to attend Interior Design Magazine’s 2019 Hall of Fame and Best of Year Awards. As a student, she earned coveted internships, including one with the internationally acclaimed designer, Kelly Wearstler. Upon graduation, she moved to Atlanta to intern at The Design Atelier and has recently joined the team as Junior Designer.

She is inspired by the unique and beautiful characteristics in life whether it be in design, architecture, nature, fashion, or people. Interior design allows her to join these innate admirations with a life-long practice. She believes that interior design is immensely personal and is energized by the interactions between client, designer, and architect. A client’s reactions of simultaneous amazement, gratitude, and feeling at home confirm to her that the project is a success.

Virginia is passionate about exploring new places with family and friends.
