Emma Updegrave graduated from the College of Charleston in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. Throughout her senior year, Emma tutored Art History to students within the department after having been nominated as College of Charleston’s first Art History tutor. During the fall of her junior year, she interned at an art gallery in Charleston. Later that year, throughout the spring, Emma studied abroad in Rome, Italy. She toured the Vatican, took day trips to visit museums in Florence, and spent her evenings after classes exploring the neighborhoods of Rome with friends.

Emma is inspired by French and German modern art, writers such as Joan Didion and Jeanette Walls, and loves to travel to new cities and countries. Working with The Design Atelier allows her to merge her love for art and culture through running the social media accounts. She believes that inspiration is everywhere and to capture it in images and art is a great way to connect to people and places. Emma admires the way the team works together, and continues to grow the digital sphere, as well as promote a positive studio environment.

Emma enjoys spending her free time with friends and family, visiting art galleries, taking workout classes, and trying different restaurants in Atlanta.
