Virginia Macoy is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and developed a deep appreciation for thoughtful design from an early age. She is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and a minor in International Human Sciences. With certifications as a WELL Accredited Professional and LEED Green Associate, Virginia blends her academic background with a commitment to enhancing people’s quality of life. Her talent has been recognized by Metropolis Magazine, which named her one of the Top 100 graduating interior design and architecture students in North America.

During her time at Auburn, Virginia served as the President of The Societies, Auburn’s student chapters of ASID and IIDA, fostering connections between students and industry professionals. Her global perspective was further enriched by a semester in Ariccia, Italy, where she immersed herself in international culture, history, art, and design. As a former Captain of the Auburn University Tiger Paws Dance Team, she brings leadership and grace to every project.

Virginia’s professional journey began at The Design Atelier and has since taken her from Atlanta to the East Coast, working on projects in cherished retreats such as Cashiers, Charleston, and Maine. An active member of the ICAA, her passion for historic interiors and classical architecture shines through in her work.

As a designer, Virginia strives to curate spaces that are both timeless and tailored to her clients’ lifestyles. Her approach centers on creating environments that transcend fleeting trends, focusing instead on enduring elegance and functionality.

Beyond her design pursuits, Virginia finds joy in exploring new destinations, discovering treasures in antique shops, savoring the perfect cappuccino, and spending time with family and friends.
